5H - Chas, NK8O, will be active again as 5H3DX from Tanzania between 17 January and 9 February 2026. In his limited spare time he will operate CW and/or digital modes on 20-10 metres, and possibly 6 metres if conditions allow. QSL via LoTW, eQSL, or direct to home call. [TNX The Daily DX]


8Q - Alex, IW5ELA, will be active holiday style as 8Q7EL from the Maldives (AS-013) on 20-27 January 2026. He will operate mainly CW on various HF bands. QSOs will be uploaded to Club Log and confirmed automatically via the bureau.


8R - Aldir, PY1SAD, will be active again as 8R1TM from Guyana between 15 January and 23 February 2026. He will operate CW, SSB and digital modes on 160-6 metres and via satellite, from 23.00 to 03.00 UTC during the week, and "full time" during the weekends. QSL via LoTW, eQSL, QRZ Logbook, or direct to home call.


9X - Harold, DF2WO, will be active again as 9X2AW from Kigali, Rwanda starting on 22 January 2026 for 18 days. He can operate on 160-6 metres using CW, SSB, FT8 and FT4, as well as on the QO-100 satellite. QSL via M0OXO's OQRS.


DL - DQ30GDXF is the special callsign celebrating the 30th anniversary of the German DX Foundation (https://www.gdxf.de/) until 31 December 2026. QSL via Club Log's OQRS and LoTW.


DL - To celebrate the Winter Olympic and Paralympic Games Milano Cortina 2026, the DARC Team SES will be active as DD2026OWG (1 February - 1 March 2026) and DD2026WPG (1 March - 1 April 2026). QSLs via DK5ON, LoTW and DCL (DARC Community Logbook).


F - Special callsign TM27PVJ will be activated from 26 January to 1 February 2026 for the 27th "Percee du Vin Jaune", the festival celebrating the "Opening of the Yellow Wine" which this year will take place at Lons-le-Saunier (Jura). QSL via eQSL.


FG - Once again Philippe, F1DUZ, will be active as FG4KH from Guadeloupe (NA-102) from 20 January to 10 February 2026. He operates SSB on 80-10 metres. QSL via LoTW, eQSL, or via F1DUZ.
FO/A - Team TX5EU (namely DK2AMM, DL2AMD, DL2AWG, PA2KW, PA3EWP and PG5M) will be active from Raivavae (OC-114), Austral Islands on 13-25 March 2026. HI - HI60UD is the special callsign for the Union Dominicana de Radioaficionados, the second oldest amateur radio club in the Dominican Republic, to celebrate the 60th anniversary. Look for activity on the HF bands SSB and digital modes, from 17 to 31 January. QSL via LoTW (preferred), eQSL, or direct.
I - Look for IG9/S51V, IG9/S52OT, IG9/S53R, IG9/S53T, IG9/S54W (callsign to be used during the CQ WW 160-Meter CW Contest), IG9/S56DX, IG9/S57UN, IG9/S58MU, IG9/S59A, IG9/S59ZZ and IG9/YT3H to be active from Lampedusa Island (AF-019) on 18-26 January 2026. PJ2 - Thaire, W2APF, will be active as PJ2/W2APF from Curacao (SA-099) between 22 January and 31 March 2026. He will operate CW, SSB and FT8 on 80-10 metres. QSL via LoTW, or direct to W2APF.
UR - EM100W and EN100WLKK are two special callsigns celebrating the 100th anniversary of the Lviv Shortwave Club, founded in 1926 as Lwowski Klub Krotkofalowcow (LKK). It was one of the largest European clubs before World War II. A commemorative certificate will be available, see https://www.qrz.com/db/EM100W for information.
UR - To celebrate his 50th anniversary in amateur radio, Nick, US8AR, will be active throughout 2026 using the special callsign EM50AR. Electronic QSL cards can be downloaded from https://em50ar.pp.ua/.
UR - Established in 1947, the British Faraday Antarctic Station was transferred to Ukraine in February 1996, and renamed Akademik Vernadsky. Celebrating that 30th anniversary, five special callsigns will be active from 1 February to 1 March: EM30VER, and - operated by Antarctic veterans - EM30KY (op. UT1KY) , EM30KCC (op. UR5KCC), EM30LV (op. UR8LV), EN30UA (op. UT7UA). A certificate will be available, see https://www.qrz.com/db/EM30VER for information.
S9 - Borut, S53BV, will be active holiday style as S9BV from Sao Tome (AF-023) on 5-20 February 2026. He will operate CW and SSB on 60, 40, 30 and 15 metres. QSL via Club Log's OQRS only.
V6 - Celebrating his 60th anniversary in amateur radio, Haru, JA1XGI, will be active as V6CU25 from Weno Island (OC-011), Micronesia on 22-28 January 2026. DAYTON TOP BAND AND CONTEST DINNERS ---> The 36th Top Band Dinner will be held on 15 May, followed by the 32nd Contest Dinner on 16 May. The events will take place at the Hope Hotel near Dayton, Ohio. Registrations are  open: see https://www.topbanddinner.com and https://www.contestdinner.com, respectively.

DESECHEO 2026 ---> KP5/NP3VI (https://desecheo2026.com/kp5) has been QRV since 12 January, shortly after the Deployment Team successfully installed both Remote Deployment Units on the island. These RDUs are purpose-built, self-contained radio systems engineered specifically for challenging and environmentally sensitive locations such as Desecheo. There are no on-site operators, and the two stations are being operated remotely. During the planned 30-day window, operators will utilise standard FT8 (MSHV), CW and SSB. The output power is dynamically managed based on battery levels, with a maximum capability of 100 watts. The primary goal of this operation is to provide an All Time New One (ATNO) to as many people as possible. As of 10 UTC on 16 January, 9340 QSOs had been made with 3663 unique calls. QSOs are live-streamed on Club Log and uploaded almost instantly to LoTW. Paper QSL cards are available via M0OXO's OQRS. Updates are posted to https://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=61585525894897

RSGB INCOMING QSL BUREAU: NEW MAILING ADDRESS ---> The Radio Society of Great Britain (RSGB) has entered into a formal contractual agreement with the Deutscher Amateur Radio Club (DARC) to handle the RSGB QSL Bureau process. Effective 16 January, the new mailing address for incoming cards for UK amateurs is: DARC QSL-Service GmbH (for RSGB) Lindenallee 4 34225 Baunatal Germany.
