4K - Ο Jan, DL4XT, θα είναι ενεργός (active) σε holiday style ως 4K/DL4XT από το Azerbaijan από 26 Δεκεμβρίου 2025 έως 3 Ιανουαρίου 2026. Θα εκπέμπει σε SSB, CW και FT8 στα 40 και 20-10 μέτρα. QSL via LoTW, Club Log's OQRS και QRZ.
A7 - Το A71QND είναι το special callsign της Qatar Amateur Radio Society για τον εορτασμό της Qatar National Day (18 Δεκεμβρίου 2025). Στους εορτασμούς θα λάβουν επίσης μέρος και η Bahrain Amateur Radio Society ως A91QTR από 12-18 Δεκεμβρίου 2025 και η Emirates Amateur Radio Society ως A60QATAR από 18-22 Δεκεμβρίου 2025 (κάποιοι μεμονωμένοι χειριστές ίσως προσθέσουν έναν σειριακό αριθμό στο special callsign) και πιθανώς και η Kuwait Amateur Radio Society (9K9QATAR), η Royal Omani Amateur Radio Society ως A43QAT και η Saudi Amateur Radio Society (HZ1QATAR).

CT - Το CS25FB είναι ένα special callsign που θα χρησιμοποιηθεί από 13-14 Δεκεμβρίου 2025 για την 25η επέτειο της Faia Brava, Άγρια Οξιά στα ελληνικά, της πρώτης ιδιωτικής φυσικής προστατευόμενης περιοχής (privately owned natural reserve) στη βόρεια Πορτογαλία. FY - Ο Pierre-Jean, F4GPK, θα είναι ενεργός (active) ξανά ως TO2FY από το Korou, στη Γαλλική Γουιάνα (French Guiana), υπερπόντια γαλλική κτήση στα ΒΑ της Ν. Αμερικής, από 22 Δεκεμβρίου 2025 έως και 15 Ιανουαρίου 2026. Θα εκπέμπει μόνο σε SSB. QSL via LoTW και eQSL. "Δεν χρησιμοποιεί Club Log και δεν θα απαντήσει σε paper QSL ακόμη και με πράσινα γραμματόσημα (green stamps)".
UA - Τα special callsigns R2026A, R2026C, R2026L, R2026N, R2026NY, R2026S, R2026X, UE26HNY και UE26NY θα είναι ενεργά (active) από 29 Δεκεμβρίου 2025 έως και 11 Ιανουαρίου 2026 για το ετήσιο ραδιομαραθώνιο "Russian New Year" που οργανώνεται από το Miller DX Club (https://mdxc.ru/) και τον κλάδο της Περιφέρειας του Ροστόφ (Rostov Oblast branch) για την Russian Amateur Radio Union (SSR). VU7 - Το AU7RS είναι το callsign για την DXpedition από 10-22 Ιανουαρίου 2026 στο νησί Agatti (AS-011), στα Lakshadweep Islands [425DXN 1798], ΝΔ της Ινδίας. Η πολυεθνική ομάδα περιλαμβάνει τους VU24DX, VU29AR, VU2RS, VU3DXA, VU3GDS, DJ5IW, DL6KVA, EY8MM, R7KW, VE7KW και YT1AD. Τα σχέδιά τους είναι να εκπέμπουν σε CW, SSB και FT8 (F/H) στα 160-6 μέτρα με 4 σταθμούς, μ' έναν 5ο σταθμό που θα είναι αφιερωμένος στο QO-100. QSL via M0OXO's OQRS. Z8 - Ο Diya, YI1DZ, θα επιστρέψει στην Juba, στο Νότιο Σουδάν (South Sudan), στην ΚΑ Αφρική, στις 15 Δεκεμβρίου 2025. Το συμβόλαιό του με το UN-WFP ισχύει μέχρι τις 30 Μαρτίου 2026, με μια πιθανή 11μηνη παράταση. Θα είναι QRV στις ραδιοερασιτεχνικές μπάντες ως Z81D στον περιορισμένο ελεύθερο χρόνο του, τυπικά τα Σ/Κ. Θα εκπέμπει σε SSB και FT8 κυρίως στα 40-6 μέτρα. QSL via OM3JW, Club Log, LoTW ή eQSL. C8K: POSTPONED ---> The original plan was for the C8K DXpedition to Mozambique, organised by the Czech DXpedition Group (https://www.cdxp.cz), to take place in January-February 2025. However, it was postponed for the first time to January-February 2026 due to safety concerns [425DXN 1757]. Now, due to overlapping work and personal schedules within the team, it has been rescheduled again, this time to September-October 2026. "This adjustment allows the full intended team lineup to participate and helps ensure safe, well-coordinated logistics and the best possible on-air performance", they say. Further information is expected in due course.

S21DX: POSTPONED ---> The DXpedition to Kutubdia Island scheduled for 21-27 December has been postponed to a later date in 2026. This decision was made after careful consideration of several factors, including logistical and operational challenges in the region, as well as concerns about adequate resource availability. The new activation dates will be announced once all necessary arrangements and resources have been confirmed.
VP0SG ---> Amateur Radio DXpeditions (ARD) has reached a key milestone in preparing for the March 2027 VP0SG South Georgia DXpedition [425DXN 1777] by signing the vessel contract for the MV "Meredian". This ice-strengthened vessel is ideal for the sub-Antarctic environment and is operated by 60 South Expeditions, who have significant experience in the region. Progress with the Government of South Georgia & the South Sandwich Islands is positive, as they are open to collaborating on plans while the formal permit process will begin in 2026. The operator team is forming, with twelve confirmed operators already and the possibility of two more. USA: 60 METRES---> The Federal Communications Commission (FCC) has allocated
5351.5-5366.5 kHz to the amateur service on a secondary basis, with a permitted power of 9.15 watts ERP. The FCC also has authorized US amateurs to continue using four existing channels (centered on 5332, 5348, 5373 and 5405 kHz) on a secondary basis, with a permitted power of 100 watts ERP. The 60-meter allocation is available to amateurs holding a General Class or above license. The maximum permissible signal bandwidth is 2.8 kHz. The new rules will go into effect 30 days after publication in the Federal Register. [Source: ARRL]
+ SILENT KEY + Bob Whelan, G3PJT passed away on 4 December. First licensed in 1961, his main interest was in HF/LF CW operation. He was a strong supporter of the Commonwealth (formerly as BERU) Contest. His book "Reflections in a Rosebowl" (1966), which covers the history of the contest, is still available on https://berucontest.wordpress.com/.
Dr. Whelan also played very significant roles in the RSGB (firstly as a member of the HF and Management Committees, and then as President for two periods), the IARU, the FOC, and the UK based Radio Communications Foundation.
